Installation process
From site survey to switch-on
One team handles every step — site survey, utility filing, installation, through to commissioning
Site survey
Our survey team visits the site in person to check available parking, the existing electrical system, and possible cable routes. We also discuss the number of charging points needed, budget, and how the site plans to use the chargers, so we can recommend the right hardware and port count for the location.
Deposit & utility filing
Once the design and budget are agreed, the customer pays a first deposit to start the project. We then file the utility application on the site owner's behalf to secure a meter point for the charger — usually the longest-lead step in the whole process, so we start it as early as we can.
Installation planning
We plan the installation in detail — cable routing, where the control cabinet will sit, and any surface work needed — then do a final walkthrough to confirm everything still matches the design before agreeing a start date with the site owner.
Charger installation
Once the charger arrives on site, our own team installs and wires it according to the plan, coordinating with the building's electrical contractor where needed, so the work gets done with as little disruption to the site as possible.
Low Priority test scheduled
For sites that need Low Priority registration, we schedule a load-management test with the utility to confirm the chargers correctly stay within the approved power limit before the site goes live.
OneCharge commissioning
Our team runs a full end-to-end test — charger-to-platform communication, payments, and pricing and access configuration — and walks the site owner through how everything works before the charger goes live.
